YOUR GIFT. YOUR IMPACT. OUR GRATITUDE.
Atlanta Academy thrives today with over 390 students because of the partnership and friendship with Mr. Mimms. I will forever be grateful for his generosity in helping us achieve our dream.Angela Naples, Founder and Head of School
Atlanta Academy opened its doors with just nine students on November 1, 2000, in the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. Since these humble beginnings, Atlanta Academy has grown thanks to the enduring spirit of our community and school leaders. The school remains indebted to the unwavering support of our donors, notably Mr. Malon D. Mimms, a prominent businessman and philanthropist.
After the first seven years of operations, Atlanta Academy had to expand into a larger property to meet the needs of a growing student body. Mr. Mimms owned a shopping center that was being leased by various businesses and churches in the Roswell area. Believing in the mission of Atlanta Academy, Mr. Mimms graciously donated the $7.3 million property. This inspiring gift marked a bright new chapter for the school. Today, we proudly serve over 390 students in a state-of-the-art facility, fostering an environment where young minds are shaped, and the highest character is instilled.
